Baños, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ecuador is definitely worth the "HYPE" around it. A beautiful place surrounded by hills and waterfalls from all sides. If you have three days or more to spare, do not think much and just COME.
One such opportunity knocked our doors as well and we decided to do make the best of it.
As we were travelling with a dog, and it was a long weekend which attracts many tourists, we had made out hotel bookings in advance in Club Ejecutivo Hotel, which was located at the center of the town and close to all the restaurants, discos etc. I would suggest that to avoid last minute hassle of looking for a place to stay, make your reservations in advance in hotels before coming.
Anyways, after some searching for sign boards, asking people for directions and relying on the GPS, we finally reached our destination; and to be truthful- I was a bit disappointed with the 'first look'.
Anyways, we entered and completed the formalities on the reception and then head to our room. So,one positive thing was that the room given to us had a window opening up to a beautiful waterfall which made waking up, all the more special. But the rooms I would say, were average and looked much better in the pictures on the booking sites than in reality.
If I had to describe in one word, it was a bit : CLAUSTROPHOBIC. Specially since I had a dog with me, I felt that there was literally no space for proper movement, there was no fan and the windows if opened would lead the loud noises from the street below right into the room making it impossible to sleep at night.
The price we paid was far more than what I thought was appropriate for the stay. My suggestion is that maybe you would want to look for other options of stay to make your days in Baños better and more memorable.
