#Libérate,Guayaquil: Great Music to shake your legs to

What  : #Libérate,Guayaquil
When : 29 May 2015
Where: Puerto Santa Ana, Guayaquil

#Libérate is one of the first events I have attended since I moved to Guayaquil. I was scrolling and scanning through my facebook account, and there I see an event in my town.#Libérate, Guayaquil was the event name and the description of the event was- See the tallest building in Guayaquil come ALIVE.

Now, that sounded interesting. I thought, well certainly lighting up a building required no knowledge of the language of Spanish; and thus I could attend without being worried of not understanding anything that was going on.

So I waited in anticipation for the day to arrive. Mind you, since I had read about the event on FB, the only information I had was this:
1) Event was called #Libérate.
2) It was sponsored by a new mobile network company called - tuenti.
3) There would be a sound and light show on a building.
4) The entry was free.

Never the less, the day arrived and since the invite said that the event will start at 7 pm, I pushed my friends to hurry as we wouldn't want to be late and to miss the sound and light show. In reality, my friends had no idea about where they were going, or what the event was about; and were just going by my word and trusting me blindly.(talk about feeling pressurized.)

At 7.15 pm, we reached Port Santa Ana and asked around for the exact place where the event was taking place. I was very happy with myself for the timing, and thought "15 minutes...aahh..perfect time for being considered as 'Fashionably Late and yet interested''.

Alas, when we reached the venue I realized that either everyone was thinking like me and wanted to be fashionably late or that as per Ecuador standards we were way too early. In short, the place was quite empty, and people were just trickling in.

But the place in itself was very beautiful and was set up in an open space right next to the sea.

When probed more, the security guards told us that it was a concert, with the famous Ecuatoriano duo of Rocko&Blasty in town playing for the crowd and then in the end there would be the lighting up of the tallest building in Ecuador which was located right behind where the stage was set up.

Nice...We had come for the lights, but instead we were additionally getting a flavor of the local popular music as well. Perfect. And so, we waited for the crowd to build up, the club lights to go on and half an hour later the opening act- an amazing DJ of Ecuador took the stage over and literally lit it on fire with his music.

Since he was playing EDM and that too popular English tracks; I knew most of them and sung along. This for me, was the best part about the evening. Check out the music and the ambiance in the video below:

After this scintillating performance, we had Rocko&Blasty take over the stage and perform for the crowd.Though I enjoyed the music, I understood nothing of the lyrics since they were singing Spanish songs. During their last song, the building behind the stage lit up and there were dancing lights all over it.

Sighh..What an eventful day.

Hope to attend many more such events in my time here in Ecuador, as surely it makes you feel closer to being a true Ecuatoriano :).

That's all from my end friends. Don't forget to keep reading more of my posts and also follow me for regular updates on my new posts.
